Weekend Update: Fairs and Fleas

This weekend was pretty awesome, as weekends go. Our intern leader (Brad) invited everyone to his house on Friday night for a Taco party, and we got to drool over his amazing studio setup and adorably decorated house. This is his tiny treadle press, JEALOUS!

He had vintage clotheslines, which he hung prints and stuff from, including this awesome Moustache Rides print.

And he had this gorgeous two-sheet letter print Jim made at Hatch, framed in his living room.

On Saturday, we went down to an art fair that was happening on the East side, which we hadn't explored yet. Though the fair was smaller than expected, I did score this awesome print from Yee-Haw press (from Knoxville). They have some AMAZING work, and I was so glad to see them at the fair!

Plus, we rode our bikes for the first time! It was hard, but I think we'll get better the more we ride.

On Sunday we went to the Nashville Flea Market, which happens once a month at the Fairgrounds. There was an amazing amount of old antiques, some at fairly reasonable prices.

The weirdest thing about the fair was that the other half of it was filled with booths full of obviously stolen stuff, at ridiculously low prices. I guess if you really needed socks or shampoo, the Flea Market would be the place to get it.

There was a house down the road from the fairgrounds with this amazing Bass mailbox.

All and all, I'd say we found some pretty good stuff. John got a switchblade, I got things covered in silhouettes, and we both got some delicious homemade pear butter.
